Thoughts from the Campaign Trail: David Ollin Pesqueira ’17 for SCOCC

MB: What is a difficulty or challenge you have experienced at Middlebury that you hope other students won’t have to face after you become SCOCC? DP: A challenge I’ve experienced, that isn’t necessarily restricted to the Middlebury campus, has been the unwillingness of others to engage in difficult, uncomfortable conversations—revolving around the interplay of race, class, sex age, etc. What I find most difficult about this trend is that it has aContinue reading

The Case for a Makerspace

from Leo McElroy ’18: What makes an idea powerful? A good idea is not implicitly powerful, an idea is made powerful by being shared. Over the past few months a friend and I have spent a portion of our free time building a laser sensor system that tracks and updates how crowded the dining halls are, so students can make more informed decisions about how to spend time and avoid mealContinue reading

Stress Busters Week

Ahh, the last week of classes and finals week—the most wonderful time of the year…right?! Haha. Wrong. Luckily, some of your equally-as-stressed classmates have taken the time to createContinue reading

The BSU Board on Last Week’s Blackout and the Continuing Importance of Action at Midd

The Resilience Project is Looking For Submissions!

Community Council Meeting on Stress (TONIGHT)

It’s undeniable that the stress of performing well in the areas of schoolwork, social life, and extra-curriculars is sometimes crushing. Most people can agree that no matter how hard we try, it seems impossible to succeed in all walks of life while maintaining sanity, happiness, and sleep (see featured image on this post). We all talk about these challenges frequently, but sometimes talking to one another isn’t enough. If you wantContinue reading
