PoorForm is a collaborative poetry space and the only Spoken Word Poetry group at Middlebury College. We meet once a week to write poetry together, perform our work, and practice for shows and competitions. Each semester we also put up one formal showcase where we perform our own work to Middlebury College Students. We also perform at a couple of informal readings at social houses, and generally just hang out! Most recently, we competed at a collegiate slam poetry competition at Yale University.
If YOU are interested in writing poetry with fun people who love to socialize with each other and perform and compete, we will be holding our final round of auditions this Friday, September 29th from 2-4pm in Axinn 220! There will be snacks and fun!
Here’s what we mean by audition:
What audition really means is that you can come in, read something that you’ve written directly off of a piece of paper and then walk away. All we want to hear is your voice and a sample of your work. Very few current members of Poor Form showed up and actually had a spoken word performance ready to go.
